WHAT'S THE PATH TO CLT HOMEOWNERSHIP?

Complete the eligibility form to get started! Checking your eligibility for our programs does not require your social security number or any inquiry on your credit.
If you are eligible, you’ll receive an email with a link to sign up for a CLT 101 session, where you will meet with our team and lending partners to talk more about your readiness to buy a home and learn about shared equity homeownership. You must attend a CLT 101 before completing the full application.
If you are not eligible, we’ll share low/no cost resources to help you prepare for homeownership and work on budgeting, building credit, etc.
If you’re uncertain about eligibility, experience issues with the form, or have any other questions, please email intake@cityofbridgesclt.org.

Before completing the full application, you must attend a CLT 101 orientation. This session explains the CLT program and application process to help you decide if it is the right fit before completing the full application.
CLT 101s are held twice a month in person at our offices. You will receive a link to sign up via email if you complete an eligible intake.

After the CLT 101, we will send you a link to apply online. If you need help completing the application or need accommodation, our staff are happy to assist.

Upload required documents to the portal; 3 years of tax returns, W-2s, one month of pay stubs, and applicable bank statements for all accounts (e.g., checking, savings, credit cards, loans, and investments).

Once your application is complete, we will notify you by email. If you are approved, CBCLT can connect you with lenders who are familiar with CLT leasehold mortgages, or you can find your own lender to obtain a mortgage pre-approval. *If you select your own lender, please make sure they are willing and able to finance a CLT home.

Once you’ve obtained a mortgage pre-approval letter, you can begin seeing homes that fit your pre-approval amount and household needs.

Once you are under contract, CBCLT homebuyers will meet with an attorney to review and understand the 99-year Ground Lease before closing.

Being part of a Community Land Trust means support in refinance or resale, guidance during tax assessment and appeal, connection to resources during ownership, and so much more!
